Alwar Accident Update: Arshi Khan in Coma in ICU, director Maneesh Singh discharged

New Delhi 15 January 2017: Pushpendra Singh Rajput: As reported earlier, model and actress Arshi Khan and director Maneesh Singh were seriously injured when a speeding drunk truck driver lost control over his vehicle and rammed into their car from the back last week.

Now, while director Maneesh Singh was discharged from hospital and returned to Mumbai today, Arshi Khan was admitted to the ICU as her condition worsened. Doctors attending to Arshi Khan said she is in coma for the last 3-4 days. “She suffered a loss of lot of blood and was given 4 bottles of blood transfusion. However, her condition has not improved and we are hoping for the best. We are not sure as she has suffered head injuries,” a doctor attending to her told media in Jaipur today.

The incident took place at approximately around 12.20 am (midnight) off the Delhi-Jaipur Highway NH21 and closer to Alwar about 140 kms from Jaipur.

While Arshi Khan was seriously injured and sustained head injuries resulting in heavy bleeding, director Maneesh Singh sustained injuries on his face and hands including a fractured leg. Both are admitted to a private hospital in Jaipur, Arshi Khan’s publicist Flynn Remedios said.

The duo were returning to Jaipur after wrapping up a shoot for the film Green Terror  at a location near Alwar about 140 kilometers away from Jaipur. Remedios who is currently camping in Jaipur said both of them are recovering. “While Arshi Khan may have to stay in hospital for 2-3 days as she sustained head injuries, director Maneesh Singh who has an ankle fracture will be discharged tomorrow evening. Singh told me the driver was drunk and did not even halt his truck but simply sped away,” Remedios had said.

The car turned turtle and the occupants of another car which was just behind the truck helped open the jammed doors of the ill-fated car. No police or highway patrol vehicles were in sight and Singh managed to contact Remedios, who arranged to rush an ambulance to the scene of the accident.
