Marissa Mayer to be the third CEO of Yahoo in a year

The technology firm Yahoo got its third CEO in a space of one year. Marissa Mayer has been appointed as the new chief executive of the technology giant.
Mayer, 37 welcomed her appointment to the top post, in the press release she said she was “honoured and delighted” to lead the company.
Yahoo has been troubled by internal controversies, in May, CEO Scott Thompson stepped down after accusations that he put a fake computer degree on his CV. In September 2011, CEO Carol Bartz was fired after two-and-a-half years in the post.
